Analytics

Track performance and make data-driven decisions to scale your OpenDay business.

Overview

Analytics show you what's working, what's not, and where to focus your efforts. This guide covers the key metrics on your OpenDay dashboard and how to use them to grow your business.

Note: Analytics features vary by subscription tier. The Enterprise tier includes API access for custom reporting.

Key Metrics Overview

Your dashboard gives you a high-level view of your business health:

  • Sales Performance: Total Revenue, Total Orders, Average Order Value (AOV), Conversion Rate
  • Product Performance: Bestsellers, Products Sold (Units), Low Stock Alerts
  • Live Stream Performance: Total Stream Views, Peak Concurrent Viewers, Average Watch Time
  • Customer Behavior: Total Customers, Repeat Customer Rate, Customer Lifetime Value (CLV)

1. Sales Analytics

Understand your revenue streams and identify trends.

  • Sales Over Time (Revenue, Orders, Units Sold)
    • What to look for: Month-over-month growth, seasonal spikes, and high-traffic days of the week.
    • Action: Schedule streams and promotions during your proven peak times.

Revenue Breakdown (By Channel & Category)

    • What to look for: Do sales come from live streams, your shop page, or direct links? Which product categories generate the most revenue?
    • Action: If live streams dominate, invest more in streaming. If shop sales are high, optimize your product listings. Feature high-revenue categories in your streams.

      Average Order Value (AOV)

    • What it is: Total Revenue / Total Orders  .
    • Why it matters: Increasing your AOV means more revenue without needing more customers.
    • How to increase AOV:
      • Offer product bundles (e.g., "buy 2, save 15%").
      • Set free shipping thresholds (e.g., "free shipping on orders $50+").
      • Upsell related products (e.g., "customers also bought...").

        Conversion Rate

    • What it is: (Orders / Total Visitors) x 100%  .
    • Why it matters: This shows how effectively you turn viewers into buyers.
    • Benchmark: Traditional e-commerce converts at 2-3%. Live commerce can convert at 10-30%.
    • How to improve: Use clear calls-to-action, show limited-time offers, and build trust with product reviews.

2. Product Analytics

Identify your winners and losers to optimize your inventory.

  • Bestsellers (Ranked by Units Sold or Revenue)
    • Action: Keep these items well-stocked. Feature them prominently in streams and on your shop page. Consider creating variations (new colors, sizes) or similar products.

      Underperformers

    • If it has low views: The product is hard to find. Improve the title, change the category, or feature it in a live stream.
    • If it has high views but low conversion: The listing is the problem. Review the price, improve the photos, or enhance the description.
    • If it has no sales in 90+ days: Mark it down to move inventory or bundle it with a bestseller.

      Inventory & Engagement

    • Low Stock Alerts: Use your Days of Inventory Remaining metric to know when to reorder, based on your supplier's lead time.
    • Wishlist Metrics: See your Most Wishlisted Products. Send an email when these items go on sale or are restocked.

3. Live Stream Analytics

Measure the success of your streaming efforts.

  • Viewer & Watch Time Metrics
    • Track your Peak Concurrent Viewers and Average Watch Time.
    • Goal: Aim for an average watch time of 30+ minutes. This shows your content is engaging.
    • Benchmark: It's normal to start with 5-20 viewers. Established sellers often see 50-200+, while popular streams can draw 1,000+.

      Engagement Metrics

    • Track Chat Messages and Poll Responses.
    • Action: Use polls strategically ("Which color should I show next?") to keep viewers engaged and gather product feedback.

      Sales Attribution & ROI

    • See which sales happened During Stream and Post-Stream (within 24 hours).
    • Track Product Events to see exactly which featured product drove the most sales.
    • Calculate ROI: Compare the revenue from a stream (during + 24h after) to your costs (time, ads). A good stream should have a very high return.

4. Customer Analytics

Understand who is buying from you and how to keep them.

  • Customer Segments
    • Identify your New Customers, Repeat Customers, and VIPs (high lifetime value).
    • Action: Create a "welcome" email for new customers and offer special perks or early access to your VIPs.

      Repeat Customer Rate

    • What it is: (Customers with 2+ Orders / Total Customers) x 100%  .
    • Benchmark: 20-30% is good. 40%+ is excellent.
    • How to improve: Use loyalty programs, send thank-you emails, and invite customers to your social community.

      Customer Lifetime Value (CLV)

    • What it is: The total average revenue you can expect from a single customer over their entire relationship with you.
    • Why it matters: Your CLV tells you how much you can afford to spend to acquire a new customer (Customer Acquisition Cost, or CAC).
