Community Guidelines

Welcome to OpenDay! We're building a community where sellers and buyers connect through live streaming and real-time shopping. These guidelines help keep OpenDay a safe, fun, and trustworthy place for everyone.

By using OpenDay, you agree to follow these guidelines. They apply to all activity on the platform — live streams, chat, product listings, reviews, and messages.

Be Respectful

OpenDay is powered by real people. Treat every interaction the way you'd want to be treated.

  • Be kind in live chat. Disagree respectfully. Encourage sellers and fellow viewers.
  • No harassment or bullying. Personal attacks, threats, intimidation, or targeting someone based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, or any other characteristic will not be tolerated.
  • No hate speech. Slurs, derogatory language, and content that promotes hatred or violence against any group are strictly prohibited.
  • Respect boundaries. If a seller or buyer asks you to stop a behavior, stop.

Keep It Honest

Trust is the foundation of any marketplace. We expect honesty from everyone.

For Sellers

  • List products accurately. Use real photos of your actual products. Describe items truthfully — including flaws, dimensions, and materials.
  • No counterfeit or misleading items. Selling knockoffs, replicas marketed as genuine, or items that don't match their description is not allowed.
  • Price fairly. Bait-and-switch pricing, hidden fees, or deceptive "sales" undermine buyer trust.
  • Ship what you sell. The item a buyer receives should match what was shown in your listing and live stream.

For Buyers

  • Leave honest reviews. Share your real experience to help other buyers and sellers improve.
  • Don't misuse refund policies. Filing false claims or returning items that have been used or swapped hurts sellers and the community.
  • Communicate in good faith. If there's an issue with an order, reach out to the seller before escalating.

No Spam or Unwanted Promotion

  • Don't promote outside platforms or competing services in chat, reviews, messages, or newsfeed posts.
  • No unsolicited links. Sharing links to external websites, social media, or unrelated products clutters the experience for everyone.
  • No fake engagement. Artificially inflating views, followers, likes, or reviews is not allowed.
  • Sellers: keep promotions relevant. Your live streams and newsfeed posts should be about your products and brand — not advertising for others.

Protect Privacy & Safety

  • Don't share personal information. Never post someone else's address, phone number, email, or financial details — in chat, reviews, or anywhere else.
  • Keep transactions on OpenDay. Completing purchases outside the platform removes the protections we've built in for both buyers and sellers.
  • Report suspicious activity. If something feels off — a scam, impersonation, or unsafe behavior — let us know right away.

Live Stream Standards

Live streaming is what makes OpenDay special. To keep it enjoyable for everyone:

  • No illegal content. Don't stream anything that violates local, state, or federal laws.
  • No prohibited items. Don't sell or promote items that aren't allowed on the platform (weapons, controlled substances, recalled products, etc.).
  • Keep it appropriate. Streams should be suitable for a general audience. Excessive profanity, explicit content, or graphic material isn't allowed.
  • Be transparent. If you're demoing a product, show it honestly. Don't exaggerate claims about quality, origin, or functionality.

Intellectual Property

  • Respect copyrights and trademarks. Don't use images, logos, music, or content that you don't have the right to use.
  • Original content only. Product photos, descriptions, and stream content should be your own or properly licensed.
  • Don't impersonate others. Pretending to be another seller, brand, or public figure is not allowed.

What Happens If You Break the Rules

We take a fair, graduated approach to enforcement. The specific action depends on the severity and frequency of the violation.

1. Warning

For first-time or minor violations, we'll reach out with a warning and an explanation of what went wrong. Most issues are resolved here.

2. Temporary Suspension

For repeated violations or more serious issues, your account may be temporarily suspended. During a suspension, you won't be able to sell, stream, purchase, or interact on the platform.

3. Permanent Ban

For severe violations — including fraud, counterfeit sales, harassment, or illegal activity — we may permanently remove your account. This decision is final.

We reserve the right to skip steps in this process for serious or dangerous violations.

How to Report a Concern

If you see something that violates these guidelines, please report it. You can:

  • Use the report button on any listing, stream, review, or message.
  • Contact our support team at support@openday.com.

All reports are reviewed by our team. We take every report seriously and will follow up as needed.

A Few Final Words

OpenDay works best when everyone contributes to a positive experience. Most people never come close to violating these guidelines — and we appreciate that. If you have questions about what's okay and what's not, don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help.

Thank you for being part of the OpenDay community.
